Our Crohn's disease paper on the cover of Cell Host & Microbe

In this Cell Host & Microbiome cover story we identified key mucosa-adherent bacteria associated with onset of Crohn's disease in a treatment-naive population. Our contribution was to show that we can predict future inflammation severity from a patient's current gut microbial profile.

Dr. Dan Knights is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the Biotechnology Institute at the University of Minnesota. The Knights lab models host-microbiome interactions in human disease, with labs in Minneapolis and Saint Paul. Knights is a PI with the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute.
