Chris McKinlay joins the lab!

Chris McKinlay has joined the Knights lab to model fine-grained temporal dynamics of host-associated microbial communities. He received his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles. Prior to pursuing his Ph.D., Christopher obtained a B.A. in Chinese from Middlebury College. His past research has applied wavelet decomposition methods and other temporal dynamics modeling to the analysis of turbulence. While a graduate student at UCLA, he also used a variety of machine learning techniques to reverse-engineer the dating website OkCupid, eventually meeting his fiancée through the site!
